Hot Health Teas For Winter, Coming Up!

1: Echinacea

In winter time, Echinacea is a must if you want natural remedies for the sniffles! In our opinion, the old wives tale about Echinacea and treating cold and flu is 100% true! It’s in the same flower family as the Daisy, and is often called a ‘coneflower’, and is used in traditional healthcare everywhere. Echinacea tablets or tea taken when you start feeling the onset of a cold can chase it off completely, and for us it’s the go-to winter immune boost.

2: Chamomile Tea

In winter, inflammation is a big problem for many. Chamomile tea can help keep inflammation under wraps. Another tip from us would be to treat a nose that’s sore from tissues with a used chamomile teabag for instant relief! Plus chamomile is one of those teas that matches well with other ingredients like honey, lemon, and spice blends.

3: Ilam Black Tea

This is our office favourite and a step up from regular black tea. We brew it with honey and lemon to soothe tickly throats, and it really boosts our energy and keeps us moving on cold days.

4: Silver Tips Tea

Perfect winter warmer! The massive re-infusion potential of tea tips means you can have a hot pot on the go all day! So you can be nice and toasty without changing out bags or leaves! A rarer type of tea, tea tips are far less processed than other teas, so contain much higher amounts of anti-oxidants. This type of tea is also quite filling and is often used in weight loss programs,  but in this instance we’re just recommending being full of hot tea all day! (you might need that extra padding to keep warm, anyhow.. 😉

5: Ginger Tea

Love it or hate it, the health benefits of ginger are widely known! Spicy ginger teas can warm you all over this winter! As well as helping to fight infections and nausea, ginger is particularly useful if the cold weather gives you joint and muscle aches. If you don’t usually take ginger, try mixing in maple syrup or brown sugar and a slice of orange.
