If you practice yoga and have some awareness of the spiritual tantric beliefs you must have come across the word Chakras….so what are they?
Chakras are the energy centres that exist within the etheric body…they are considered vital to our health and negative forces affecting the spinning of these chakras are believed to result in sickness and disease..
So what are they and what does each of them symbolise!! Lets just have a quick look at their names and see what each of them stands for…
Root Chakra: Located at the base of the spine, this chakra represents our foundation and feeling of being grounded. Its the most dense chakra and hence is represented by the dense colour red.
Sacral Chakra: Located in the lower abdomen, couple of inches below the naval this chakra is symbolised by the colour orange. The main energy of this chakra is creativity and feelings.
Solar Plexus Chakra: In the upper abdomen in the stomach area is the chakra that governs our ability to be confident and in-control of our lives. Yellow- the color of sunshine is the color of the third energy centre. The main energy of yellow is intellect
Heart Chakra: No confusions here…as the name suggests this represents our ability to love and is located in centre of our chest just above the heart. Green…not quite the colour expected…. is the colour of the heart chakra and it represents healing, balance, tranquility, and serenity
Throat Chakra: The next energy centre is located in our throat and governs our ability to communicate. It is represented by the colour blue…blue the colour of soothing and calmness….so keep in mind that your words should be such that soothe the soul.
Third Eye Chakra: This represents the ability to focus and see the bigger picture…and is located in between the two eyes on the forehead…Indigo which represents this chakra is the color that opens the consciousness and brings awareness to higher planes and connects us with the spiritual world.
Crown Chakra: Located at the very top of our head this energy centre governs our ability to be fully connected spiritually.Violet, the colour of cosmic awareness and cosmic consciousness is the colour of this chakra. It is the colour of oneness and spirituality.
