Yoga – The Ultimate Discipline-Recipe For Youth?

in Apr 16, 2024

Yogic beauty shines brightly on the faces of those who practice yoga as a way of life and not just as a form of exercise. So, what really is a yogic way of life? My swami/guru used to say enough work, enough rest and enough food brings a balance in your life and its that balance which takes you more within and let the beauty show on the outside.

Do we ever stand still and ask ourself where are we going? What‘s the rush? What is it that we are running after? How long for? Are we happy? Really happy? Answers to these questions alone, coming from within will make us see the reality of our purpose and bring calm into our lives.

I think a yogic way of life is to be acutely aware in all our deeds starting from morning till evening. Alert to our thought  processes and where they are leading us to.But for all this to happen, we must slow down!

A little-step by step. Practice of yog asanas on a regular basis brings this awareness to us. Yoga is an over 5000 yr old science which has flooded the western world with a deeper insight into their physical and mental processes.Yoga has a healing effect on the body and the aging process, caused mainly by autointoxication can be slowed down by practising yoga. By keeping the body clean, flexible and well lubricated we can significantly reduce the catabolic process of cell deterioration.

And who doesn’t want to stay young, look beautiful and be full of vitality!

  • YOGA IS EQUANIMITY
  • YOGA IS SKILL IN ACTION
  • YOGA IS THE CONTROL OF MENTAL PROCESSES

There are multitude benefits of yoga

  • Boosts physical strength, stamina and flexibility
  • Bestows greater powers of concentration and self control
  • Enhances mental clarity
  • Provides balance of mind and the body
  • Brings down stress and induces relaxation
  • Improves posture and muscle tone
  • Improves blood circulation
  • Results in healthier glowing skin
  • Antiaging and keeps you younger looking
  • Cleans and improves the functioning of internal organs
  • Brings peace of mind and a positive outlook on life

Just a few to mention.!! Trying won’t kill. As a beginner who doesn’t not know anything about yoga or yogic ways, it can be daunting, seeing people in topsy turvy positions.

Let’s just look beyond these difficult looking postures and just begin. Begin without fear and with a lot of trust. A new wonderful world opens up to us and the calm that we all aspire for through everything becomes a by product.

Real youth prevails…
